Memoirists and spiritual seekers are both interested in the question of identity, origin, and self. In the online course “Writing to Awaken”, Mark Matousek, a talented writer as well as a spiritual seeker, gives you tools that are valid for both your spiritual inquiry and your writing journey.

As the title suggests, this course’s emphasis is on your own writing to help you awaken. A teaching video will accompany each week, but the emphasis is on the workbook and writing prompts for students to truly delve into their own stories.

You will be amazed at the revelations and connections you find out about your story, your fears, and your desires over the next month. Freedom is possible, and the more you write, the more you can work towards freedom.

I took Mark's classes and I mostly enjoyed the depth of his presentation, his clear vision. I also like to hear him interacting with people--really taking time to listen and to understand. I consider Mark one of my most inspiring teachers.

Mark is not only a great writer but also has an exceptional gift for teaching this life-changing art. Even though I've only met him “online”, I straight away felt seen and heard on a deep level and knew that I could trust him with my fears and foibles. His love for writing and the transformative journey it takes you on (if you let it) shines through strongly and consistently. If you're looking for someone who walks their talk, is a great teacher and mentor, and can bring out the authentic writer in you then I can't recommend Mark highly enough.

Anyone taking an online class with Mark Matousek is in for a rare treat, and most likely a life-changing experience. Mark always plans thought-provoking writing exercises that tap into the deepest part of yourself. Through his keen insight, perspective and kind responses to the students’ writing he offers feedback that help students focus on and realize their inner truth. This is the fifth class I’ve taken with Mark, and I hope to take many more.
